SFI FILM PROJECT

Currently, we are sponsoring the training and works of a group of young aspiring filmmakers. Selected interns will train this core group in film production and editing techniques. Interns should expect to help produce several short films which will be viewed at a festival to introduce these new film directors. Language of instruction: English

FILMING AND EDITING INTERNSHIP

Provide one-on-one and group-training in Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, DVD Studio Pro, iMovie and iDVD.

Interns are expected to be involved in the organization, editing, production, distribution, and promotion of projects to be produced during his or her tenure.

Human Resources:

As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily upon the support of volunteers. Working with the volunteer coordinator, this intern will help recruit and train volunteers
for the a culminating festival. Selected interns will also play a crucial role in organizing the volunteer appreciation party that follows the film project.

Compensation:

Round-trip airfare (JFK to Dakar); Room
and Board; Excursions; and End-of-Internship Certificate and $500 stipend

(Interns should budget $200-$300/month for pocket money and incidental expenses.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship positions begin late March and continue through the end of the June. We ask that our interns have a strong interest in the film industry and be able to commit to working at least 20 hours per week for a period of three months. Arrangements can be made for interns wishing to extend their stay.

  • Prior media/video production experience necessary.
  • Ability to commit to a 4-hour shift preferred.
  • Capability of managing multiple projects
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals.
